Default Chain saw conversion smoke pump??

Hi,

I'm playing with an Echo 30cc chain saw conversion engine. It is a neat little engine with the coil mounting to bosses on the cylinder instead of on a housing. Little or no cutting involved with this conversion. It also has holes in the sides of the crankcase that will be easily adaptable to a beam type mounting. The exhaust comes out the rear, but a tight turn header will take care of that, and with the beam type mounting, I'll have the room.

Now the question. It has an oil pump on it for the chain oiler. Has anyone tried using one of these for a smoke system??? Any luck? Any advice??

Thanks,
AV8TOR

I just did a search for the 30cc Echo chainsaw engine and found your post. A HD store has one for $80 and I was wondering how your conversion was done. It looks like the carb is mounted to the crankcase and not the cylinder. It just might be something I can use but not sure. I may just pick it up anyway.

The pump on the chain saw is too low a volume. It is designed to drip oil on the chain. On my chain saw, I can run for an hour on the oil tank.

One my GP PW EX300, I have a ZDZ-40 with a smoke pump. It will empty a 16 oz tank in about 3.5 minutes.
