Can someone suggest a place to get a muffler for a homey 25? The stock one blows straight into my firewall an would need to be modded to bolt up anyway! So I'd rather just replace it with an aluminum one. To make one would be best but I don't have a welder. [

I have one requirement. I need to get it to Canada. I found some in the classifieds but they go to US only (as stated). Thanks for your help.
It's going on a Diabolo 120-nice big cowl!

Homelite sells a little square Box shapped muffler that is held together with the two mounting bolts. Its only like $13.95 It's easy to take it apart and grind out the baffle. The outlet is at the top of the back side. I plugged this hole and ran two out the top made from steel gas tubing from the auto parts store. I brazed them in with a torch... If the muffler or the tubing has cadium plating on them, it will have to be removed or the braze will not stick.
Carr Precision makes some nice aluminum mufflers that are rather universal, don't cost or weigh much. I thought he shipped to Canada? Get on the Web site and see?
Enjoy,
Jim

Kenlambert,
Do you have any pictures of your muffler? I'd like to have a closer look at it to see if it will fit my particular application. It's going in a 70" Diabolo 120. Thanks for the ideas!

You can get a muffler from www.wackerengines.com for $28.00 shipped to your door. They are of top quality construction and the pipes screw it and out for easy installation around cowling's. Peter is a great person to deal with and he will help you with everything you my need.
Thanks
Jim

Thanks

at the risk of upsetting Ken, here a muffler from Pete at www.wackerengines.com for the same money. Much better finish quality and removable pipes....

Good Ken, Im glade to see people having fun making parts to further the cost effective conversions of these engines. I know it takes a lot of work to make some of the parts. As far as the weight of the muffler, not sure but its feather lite.

I've got one of Kens mufflers on the Homey in my Ultra Stik. It weighs 46.8 grams compared to 115 grams (weighed on a triple beam Ohaus) for the B&B that I took off. The single tube exhaust gave me 200 more rpm over the B&B on the same prop and it is much quieter. This doesn't work on all engines but on the Homey it did. Less than half the weight, more power, less noise, works for me!
