im looking for the "manual" for engine conversions. been searching for about 45 mins so far and cant find crap (ill probly find what im looking for as soon as i post this). anyway can someone please point me in the direction of a website with all the information i can stand to read on the subject? thanks -Nick

There really is no manual that I know of for conversions. There are however good or easier engines to convert than others. Any engine that has to be cut out of the saw, trimmer, or whatever it's from will be more difficult. It is nice to do an engine that requires no cutting and hacking of excess case material.
There are a good choice of engines that will mount like a glow engine, making mounting much easier and avoiding extra fabrication. Some of these engines are:
Poulan 46cc
Echo 44cc (same as a BME44)
Homelite 45cc
Homelite 50cc
I know the Poulan 46 is very popular and easy to convert, not to mention powerful and cheap. It all depends on what you have at hand. Did you have an engine in mind? That may be a better way to get your answers. Asking questions about a certain engine will usually result in some good replies.

Hey Nick, There was a site or web page called " Teaching a Weedwacker to Fly "
or something like that,but I haven't seen it for a while.
I think it was done by one of the parts ( custom ) guys.
Lately the best info has been right here.

well i didnt have a particular engine in mind at the moment as ill probly use whatever i can find thats free as i know where several old weedeaters are just have to go pick them up dunno what they are though yet. I was just wanting a website to read that tell exactly what is involved with converting one over to r/c to see if its even something i want to bother with. in fact i think that "teaching a weedwacker to fly" site is what im looking for. -Nick

Take a look at this website. It has one of the pages called teaching a weedwacker to fly and a couple of more. This page is dedicate to Ryobi conversions, but by reading it you well get the idea of what is needed to convert almost any engine.

I have a begginers need to know...... Is it possible to convert a Kyosho nexus30 fron gas to electric......Regulations in my area prevent me from flying with gas engines. Anyones help on this matter will be greatly apreciated...
