homelite 23cc instead of .90 super tigre
hey all!
i'm thinking of buying a homelite 23cc weedwaker engine.
i want to mount it on extra 300s .90 size plane.
the .90 engine flyies great, but i think gas will be better
first i wanted to ask if i should do so - weight vs. power...
second, are they any web pages that can help me convert it...
third, what prop should i use
thanks
liron

thanks, but i'm more interested in what do you think...
i read somewhre that a converted engine will weight abou 1.8kg,
while my engine only weights ~800grams...
will the extra 1kg be worth it?
or should i stike to my engine?
thanks

The weight is a major problem. Usually the plane needs to be in the 150 size for gas engine to fit an aerobatic plane. 1/4 scale J-3 Cub is better for this size engine.

The only gas engine I would consider for this size plane is a light 1.4 - 1.6 such as RCS, MVVS, etc. I have tried gas in small airframes ( bigger than yours ) and find the vibration a real problem.
