Big Bore Carburator for Homelite 25cc
I have a stock Homelite 25cc and I am looking for a cheap big bore carburator for it. There are many on **** but they are for a 49cc Pocket bikes. What are some of the specs I should look for choosing a compatable carburator? Is it venturi size? Also what models should be considered?

The ones people like for the Homelite 25 has between a 11 and a 11.5mm venturi. In the Walbro's they will have a 27 or 28 cast into the inlet on the venturi. The favorite for several years has been the Walbro WA167-1. There are many other numbers that fit the parameters. The Zama carbs are good too if you can figure out what size they are. Usually the carb from a 14" chain saw willo be about the right size.
The Walbro's with a 24 cast inlet inlet give a pretty good showing too.
Enjoy,
Jim

So much for anything bigger than a 11.5 mm carb brings deteriorating results. This man used a 14 mm carb with a few mods and got great results. Thanks man, I guess it pays to try stuff yourself.

For your information, if you want to cross match an ID for a walbro carb. the greater southwest aeromodellers have link to walbro applications chart. Here is the the link to Greater Southwest, http://tech.flygsw.org/. Towards the bottom of the page is the link to the Walbro Parts Index. Outdoordistributors.com has very good prices for new replacement carbs, I have bought used carbs before and had to rebuild shortly there after. A WA167 at Outdoordistributors is about 43 dollars new, you can also use the Index from Greater southwest to cross reference a different carb with the same ID. I found several Walbro carb numbers that way that were less costly than the WA167.
