Default Reed valve issue on Ryobi 31cc

Does any one know if the stock reed valve should sit flat on the carb spacer and be sealed or does it have a slight curve inward to produce nore retun spring pressure. I opened up my ryobi and the reed valve has a slight bend inward toward the crank that I can see light under. I am having trouble with this engine not running unless its on full choke. I thinks its a carb issure but found the "warped" reed valve and did not know.
Thanks for any help.
Thanks

The reed should be tight against its seat. You shouldn't be able to see light under it. Is it riveted on or can you unbolt it and turn it over?

There is a reed limiter that's on top of the reed to limit it's movement.

Enjoy,

Jim

The reed bolts down in place with a limiter on top. I will try turning it over thanks for the info.
