I have seen others on this site, I am working on a 23.6cc Echo to put in mine now.
I just started working on the engine now to see what kind of power I can get out of it.
I am shooting for around 10lbs AUW. Some people have told me it won't fly well.
We'll see, at 10lbs. and a wing area of 1100 inches I think it will.

i was reading the specs and warnings on that plane and it said not to get too heavy an engine due to light construction and to not do high throttle dives. it might work but just be careful.

I plan to do some re-enforcing in weak areas. It is built light. Also has very large control surfaces so it would not be a good plane to fly fast. I just want it for 3D.

after having an engine(.45 size) hit me in the face i am overly cautious now on planes i build and put together. my homelite 25cc i am using 1/4-20 bolts to mount the back plate to the test stand. i plan on using the same size bolts when i mount it on my cap 232. maybe a bit paranoid but better safe than sorry.

Thanks Guys. I will be watching to see how yours flies. I'm looking for a good ARF to mount my 25cc Homlite on. Just want to fly basic aerobatics no 3D any suggestions?

I'm trying to stay away from the Ultra stick... would like something with scale looks. I will check out the seagull laser 200. What planes do you currently have your homie's in?
thanks.
thanks.

I have Homies in a Stick and a Goldberg Ultimate. I really did alot of lightening work on the Ultimate, but it is awesome now! You may be able to get the ARF version lightened up so the Homie would work well.

TKG,
Thanks for the info. That was like no ultra stick I have ever seen before.... converted to a low wing... It is amazing what people can think up...
Thanks.

I have a 25cc Poulan that I am trying to decide what airframe for build / buy for it. I am thinking about a Lanier Laser 200 but I am wondering if the 1/4 scale will be underpowered with this motor. Has anyone any experience with this ?

I have a twin ring 31cc Ryobi in a CMPro 140 Giles. [link=http://www.cmpairplane.com/G-202-140.htm]CMPro[/link] I have no taco to tell you what speed it is spinning but I have had an 18x8 and currently have a 17x10 bolly which I fell is giving me a bit better speed and good vertical. Not quite light enough for 3D. see pics.
I have another freshly converted twin ring that I will be taking a fair amount of excess weight off. I was considering putting in the H9 FuntanaS 3D 60-90 [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByCategory/Product/Default.aspx?ProdID=HAN2675]Funtana[/link]. With the wing area and weight of it I think the Funtana has to be a good combo. Another contender is the Ultra-RC Ultimate Giles[link=http://www.ultra-rc.com/giles/index.htm]Ultra-RC[/link]
