As the topic states, I am currently assembling my HomeLite 25cc motor, which will be mounted on a scooter, with me standing on it, total weight should be about 130 pounds including motor (I weigh about 115 pounds ) but, even with this weight, I worry the HomeLite will struggle in the long run, wearing out the motor and causing problems. In order for the threads to be seated properly, I want to have the best threadlocker for the engine, but, if disassembly is required (in the future, it is likely, considering the application), Permatex (the maker of my threadlocker) claims that the Red threadlocker cannot be removed without heating the area to 450 degrees fahrenheit (the motor couldn't take that).

I've used the red LocTite on a WeedEater motor which I've since scrapped, and I was able to disassemble the motor even with the red LocTite. Only reason I suspect I was able to, however, is that the maximum heat limit for LocTite (at least the kind I have) is 300 degrees. When disassembling, although the motor was cold, the LocTite seemed almost wet still.

Should I run LocTite at all, stick with the Blue threadlocker so that if disassembly is required, I'll be alright, or go with the red, and hope it doesn't turn "wet", or when I try to remove, it it takes the threads with it too [X(].

I have both the blue and red LocTite on hand, so if one is better suited in one area than another, I can also do that -- apply say the red LocTite on the head to block screws, heat dam, etc. but stay with blue on the carb and exhaust.

Any help would be appreciated.

I hae been using green Loctite 680 for years on ALL the bolts and screws...The strongest is 638 green, but hard to find...Green 680 is more common and almost as strong...Either green is stronger than the other colors...
3W uses some form of Loctite on the threads of the prop stud..It takes my Mapp gas torch to get it hot enough to remove with a 3/8 air wrench...
You won't hurt the case of an engine by heating it to loosen any Loctite, even the Green..I do it all the time, 3W engines use it on the bearings in the case...
If you put green Loctite on the brass 4-40 screws holding the carb discs in place they will twist off before the green Loctite releases..I use a small butane torch or soldering iron to heat the screw first...Way better than losing a cylinder and piston if the screw goes through the carb....
You can Google Loctite and see all the different types and properties..

Red for big stuff, blue for little. Works for me.
