Hello all,
First time posting here.
I'm working on making a few mods to a Homie 25.
First, Is there a ready made water jacket for these things? I've turned the fins down. And short of makiong myself one, thought I better ask before going much further.
Second, If I decrease the cubic inch area in the crank box, How much is to much?
I'm not much on the mechanics of these things, I do understand the basic priciples. I can do my own casting in aluminum. and have the ability to machine and mill.
On that note. The motor is going to power a seven foot hand made mahogony runabout. Currently it is severily underpowered by a Toro 25cc. Don't misunderstand here, the boat looks great out on the water and does clip along nicely, but to see this thing. It's got to go faster. Neither my brother (the builder of this fine beauty) or myself have the funds to aquire a nicer motor. But do believe we can modify a motor to suite the boats needs. For any of you interested in seeing our boat, it's in the gallery listed below. Thanks in advance guys.

Hi Neil,
The Toro has a lot of power hidden in it with a few simple mods, but here is a site that will show you how to hopup you Homelite. The machine work will come in handy. http://testfly.0catch.com/homelite/e...lindermod.html You can also get parts like a water jacket at : http://www.whobbies.com/index1.html Maybe a 25cc isn't enough for that boat. It looks good, but heavy.

Thanks a heap for the links Dave,
I guess for powering from a 25cc class of engine the boat is a little heavy. But she only ways in at 62 pounds fully loaded.
I couldn't find a water Jacket on the Enforcer site, Lot's of info on water pumps ans such.
There was a Aussie fella from Shark racing, His site has been down for about a year now. WHo had a comlete site dedicated to modifing these things.
Thanks again Dave

Hi Neil,
If you are going to use a commerical water jacket, it is always best to machine the cylinder after you get the jacket. this way you can cut the cylinder to fit it. Here is a jacket at auction on Ebay. It will work if you didn't cut to much. It is held by two screws and has gaskets at the top and bottom. At least it will give you an idea of how to make one.
