Poulan 46cc help/parts
#1
I am looking for some help with my 46cc poulan motor and I dont know where else to post. I have a poulan chainsaw with this motor and have been having trouble with the flywheel coming loose and shearing the key that is integrall with the flywheel. Has anyone that has this motor had this problem? I am looking for a little insight on what the problem might be, and I am also looking for another flywheel if anyone has one lying around and wants to sell it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
George

look up (poco242) herre on rcu.he sells these engines converted for our airplanes.he might have some extra flywheels.make sure the edges on your crankshaft where the keyway fits are sharp and clean.also make sure the fywheel is seated all the way and the nut is tight.i would try some loctite brand bearing retainer with a new flywheel and torqe the nut down.

Mine is on CH ignition (fixed timing). It pulls a MSC 20-8 prop and a 23 pound warbird with gusto. I think it is a very smooth engine for a saw conversion. I like mine a lot. Very easy starts and good power.
