anyone help
im curious, is there a way to order a two ring 31cc ryobi string trimmer from harbor freight tools and get what you want?
or is it a roll of the dice kind of thing?no one i talk to either can ,or will help me ,but thats not all that unusual.
is there something i should know .
really confused fj5

With Harbor Frieght it's likely a roll of the dice.

More likely a new one than a factory remanufactured one?

I wouldn't worry too much about single or twin

They both run good. With a Frank Bowman ring the single can be pretty good

Enjoy,

Jim

I just sent my twin ring piston to Frank Bowman to have his rings installed. I did a search in the forums for -Bowman- & I read in more than one thread where they were getting at least 500 rpm's & some up to 800 more rpm's with Bowman rings than stock rings. Here is his contact info.

Haha funny thing is, I JUST bought a Ryobi week wacker, 31cc, for 10 bucks about an hour ago at a yard sale! Im in the midst of tearing it apart right now. This is my first gas engine, and my first conversion. Not to take the topic, but what should I do to convert this engine to RC? I need help on where to find parts and other things to make this engine work. Thanks

Captin, what do you no about Duropower engines. I see they have a 26cc for $50.00 and a 33cc for $70.00. Sounds like a good deal if they are any good.

Hmmm, interesting. I love it when I see "not for sale in California". That's always a good sign.

They look like my Mitsubishi engine that I've yet to tear into. That 52cc for $79.00 looks especially interesting. Who's going to be the first to buy/try one?

well everything went "kerflewie" today. my new ring showed up in the mail ,and low and behold it's to big for my piston .aparently my engine is a 28cc i didnt know that.
ok ,no big deal.i pull apart another one i have laying around polish the ports clean every thing up ,and the chrome is about half peeled off the cilynder.i guess i should have checked it out first. its now 2:30 pm (i started at 9:00 am) .
harbor freight at3:00 pm $63.00 later i have a new 31cc ryobi .
during disasembly im pleasantly supriesed to find a twin ring engine with not two ports , but four!... and no compresion relief slots! with the exception of my bowman ring ,not to shabby!
wow ,what a roller coaster ,im almost back to where i started maybe ill get to run it tomorow .

Do you know if there are any conversion packages for these engines or do you have to make the parts yourself? Thanks

av8tor,

Did you notice the RPM for max power and max torque and did it seem logical? 6500/5000 RPM seem very low for a two-stroke engine. Wonder what the application was for the 52cc engine.

DP52T $80
Max power – 6500 RPM
Max torque – 5000 RPM
DP26T $50
Max power – 7500 RPM
Max torque – 7000 RPM
DP33T $70
Max power – 7500 RPM
Max torque – 5500 RPM

Bill,
that is there max-rpm not ours. I ordered the 33cc last week, will post some pic's when I get it down to bare bones. I hope it is a good engine,$70 is a good deal for a 33cc.
