Default Gas to Glow; how good this idea is ???

Hi,

I red in USRA that some of the champions transformed Gaz Zenoah 80GP into Methanol and got a lot more
power. Then since I have couple McGulloch of 28cc I wander How Much Power Increase I will get for
such conversion; any experiences with some measured numbers of RPM with cerain Propeller would
be very much of help to me to make my mind.

Thanks,
Nikolay

My guess is that the power may equal a 35cc gas engine. A 28cc engine on Metanol should even put out more yet with Nitro added...say about 5 percent for a start. Capt,n

Most stock Walbro or Zama carbs cannot pass enough alcohol for the engine to run correctly without modification

For testing you can use a big Supertiger carb or any big glow engine carb. More easy to adjust too. Capt,n

Stock G26, gas/oil, stock Walbro WT499 carb, 18-6 Mejzlik prop, no muffler, 9000 rpm..
Same engine 5 minutes later with glow fuel, 9600 rpm....No other changes...Fuel was stored in a closed gallon bottle under the bench, about 5 years old, no idea what oil or nitro was in it....
Draw your own conclusions
