Default Mounting the homelite

I saw this on here somewhere but I can't find it now. Seems like it was Captainjohn that posted a picture....

Anyway,
When replacing the backplate screws with studs that extend through the firewall and using them to mount the engine to the plane, do you drill out and tap bigger, or stay with the stock size screws?

I went with the same size....just drilled and tapped deeper. Use loctite on them...but make sure to clean and blow out threaded hole. Clean new studs also. Capt,n

The weedie Homelites I've done were all 10-24 back there.

I made this back plate for mine but I copied it from the C-H back plates on my Macs. It's 3/16" 6061T6

Have flat head counter sunk Allen screws in the rear of the crankcase.

I just measured the major dia of thread .085 and counted 24 threads in a inch. If it was not same as stock thread it was close...same pitch anyway. Capt,n
