Mystery Motor
This came from a string trimmer.. Weedeater model.. I believe it said 16cc or 18cc
The part thats throwing me off is the bottom mount carb
What I do like is the rear exhaust and no huge coil brackets to trim off like a Koritz
Whatever it goes in it'll look odd with the carb poking out the top of the cowel.

RE: Mystery Motor
The more I look at this thing the more it confuses me.
It's like a mutant offspring of a Ryobi and a Koritz
It has a crank with front and rear outputs like my Koritz.
Rear Exhaust like the Ryobi
Coil attached to the head like a Ryobi
Carb on the bottom of the case???? Ok thats different
As mounted in the trimmer the Mag faced the rear and the output shaft was on the exhaust side..
It's possible this thing would run backwards with the prop on the mag side.

RE: Mystery Motor
Ha.. it does run backwards.. There's a rotation arrow on the coil. Proper rotation would be on the exhaust side..
There no way to mount it other than as a pusher unless the rotation could be reversed.
Looking more like a door stop every minute.
I found a parts listing for it.. It's from a Poulan\Weedeater 1600

RE: Mystery Motor
sscherin,
I bought a Weedeater XR-75 long before the turn of the century. After many years of use, I tore it down with hopes of converting it. It was so big and heavy with such a small displacement that I threw it away. I kept the carb, flywheel and coil. Also it didn't have needle bearings at the wrist pin. I bought a refurbished Homelite 25 to satisfy my desire to do a conversion.
