What are you guys doing for a safety nut on the ryobi shafts, have found one place that has one for the long shaft, but I think its priced too high.....Besides why do we have to have them any way jet boys flying 200mph with needle nose F 18s n such.would hurt worse than a shaft if it hit you.

The long shaft is a 3/8x24 thread. This size is very common on the larger gassers. The short shaft size would depend on who made the hub. The most commom size is 5/16x24 which is readily available at your LHS. Of course you would need a prop stud to go with it. A simple plastic spinner is a common solution.

I do not think what kind of nut matters that much. What matters is hitting a person with any RC airplane. If you are afraid of nut coming loose. Use 2 nuts ...locked against eash other or some locktite. Regards Capt,n
