I bought a second hand Timberman with the 45cc engine and tore it down last nite. It look highly convertable, however I am a little worried about the crank thread size. It looks like its around 5/16x24, which seems a bit small for a 45cc engine. It looks like several folks have converted these things, so I wonder if all is OK by just making a prop hub and tightening the snot out of it, or are other measures necessary?

It will be fine. There have been a lot of those converted with no problems.

My 48cc twin only has a 5/16 x 24 stud as well. Just use Loctite.
