Hello All,
I am currently attempting to convert a motor that came out of a high-power leaf blower, the kind that you would where on your back, I think. Its a 49cc, and after ripping it down and what not, I realized that the engine currently spins the wrong way for airplane use. I was thinking that maybe converting it over to electric ignition would allow me to set it up to spin the other way, since then it would'nt really matter which way it was turning. I'm not so sure of this though, and was wondering if anyone here has tried anything like this before. Also, I was wondering what the going electronic ignition is right now, I remember a while back someone was selling them for like 59 or 69 bucks. Thanks much any ino appreciated!

I use CH Ignitions for mine. They have one now that is an import that sells for about $100.00. Downside to it is that the components are potted in epoxy. Crash your plane and hurt the ignition you can't fix it. The ones I use can be repaired but they cost a litle more. Call Bill or Terry and they will help you out.

If you run it make sure that the hub is locked tite down. with lock tite. The prop hub will fly off. If your engine is running in a clock wise it should have a left hand nut on the crake... When you make the engine run conter clock then it can unscrow the prop hub. But if you engine has a right hand on it you will not have a prob.. the engine will titen up the hub as it is ran.

AdamsBro: See if you can post a photo of your engine. You may be able to be able to mount prop adapter on the other end of crank and have correct rotation. Capt,n
