CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT ENGINE THIS IS? I DON'T HAVE A PICTURE BUT I'LL TRY TO DESCRIBE IT. I FOUND IT IN A DUMPSTER. IT CAME OFF A SCOOTER. IT HAS 2 RINGS BALL BEARINGS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CRANK, NEEDLE BEARINGS ON THE PISTON. TNE ONLY MARKINGS ARE ON THE JUG IT HAS 0108, AND ON THE FLYWHEEL IT HAS 2 NAMES. ONE NAME IS YIMENG AND THE OTHER IS IKEDA. I MEASURED THE BORE AND STROKE AND THE MEASUREMENTS ARE NOT VERY ACURATE BUT THE BORE IS 1.575 AND THE STROKE IS 1.375. BY MY CALCULATIONS IT COMES OUT TO 2.678 CU IN AND 43.897 CC.
I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT CONVERSIONS BUT THIS ONE LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD BE VERY EASY. CARB AND EXHAUST ARE ON THE SIDES. THE BACK HAS 4 HOLES 2 5/8' SQ.
FLAT AND EASY TO MOUNT. I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED ALL THE INFO YOU ALL HAVE LISTED IN THE THREADS AND I'M VERY IMPRESSED BY YOUR KNOWLEDGE. THANKS FOR ANY INFO YOU ALL HAVE.
THANKS AGAIN STEVE

Thanks for your reply. Yes it has red covers and I did find another number stamped into the flywheel side 03027347. Can you give me any info on the engine such as parts sorce or how you converted yours. Mine shows little ware but I'll need gaskets and seals since I diasembled it.
Thanks Steve

for gaskets, go to any auto parts store and get a roll of gasket material (should be several different thicknesses, thinner paper type material works fine for these engines, a roll is about $5 and has enough gasket material for a lifetime of engine converting, a little bit of patience and an exacto knife will make any gasket easy to make. for thicker gaskets cereal boxl cardboard works well

Actually, though mine looks like it will be easy to convert, I haven't converted it yet. That is why I said it "probably" will make a good conversion. As Ranger Bob said; gaskets can be easily made. I don't really know about parts supply. I had a link to someone that was running, selling, and providing service and parts for the engine, but I lost the link. It was someone using them on scooters I believe. He also had a kit to increase the displacement.

I agree, It looks like it will be very easy. I found this site today and it seems to have all the parts and the price looks right. www.scooterparts4less.com Is your engine a 33cc or a 43cc ? I tried to measure mine and keep coming up with 43 or close but it has a red cover and the covers look more like the 33cc. I keep trying to find info that would give bore and stroke for the different engines but can find nothing. If you have any ideas let me know.
Thanks again
