I have just brought a Falcon Aviation EroBat 7 foot wing span can't wait to fly it, thinking of installing a RCGF 26cc p/engine in.
can anyone tell me if this would be a good choice or not? had different views so far....better still is anyone flying one at the mo.
This is my new baby lol.

Hey Andrew

The new 26cc RCGF is a great engine, but I think I will be a little underpowered for your plane. I am not sure of the weight of the Erobat, but an 84" wing just calls for a 45cc - 50cc engine.
The RCGF 45cc is a great puller. The new engine model has a rear carb setup and the power output if better than the side mounted carb.

I have my 26cc in a big ole UGLY STICK. Way overpowered, but a LOT of fun! (76" wingspan and about 9 pounds )

thanks a lot good to hear, I am a little new to it all and just finished with my trainer plane. building a wot 4 nearly done, I will take that out before the EuroBat...... lol
if you have any more tips I would be happy to take them onboard.....cheers.
also been told at the club I may not be able to fly it before taking a B test first if the plane is over 7.6 kg I think?
anything on that?

Hey Andrew

The UK has different testing standards than North America. The one thing that ALL of us globally want to ensure is that we fly safe. That comes with practice and more practice. The Eurobat is a high performance plane that will fly well, and it will do EVERYTHING you tell it to do. That is the good part and the bad part too. It flies where you tell it, no matter what direction. Because it is a high performance plane there is no forgiveness like a trainer can provide.

Though the Eurobat can fly slow like a trainer, and it will fly as gently as a trainer, it is still not a trainer. My good UK buddy (who lives in Canada now) has a WOT 4 and he LOVES IT. I also enjoy flying it, when he lets me!!. That should be a good transition plane for you to get the feeling for the non trainer planes. Save the Eurobat till you feel really confident of being able to act and react in auto mode. The plane and you will enjoy one another a lot more.

I have been training students for over 25 years, so my experiences with new pilots have been honed. I love training the new guys. It's in your eyes! Just about everyone I have trained wants to get a plane that is two or more levels above their experiences. What I recommend to them is to go from a high wing trainer to a low wing trainer. And practice, practice and then practice again. That done and with a couple of gallons of the WOT 4 behind you, the Eurobat will look and feel like a confident step for you!

Thanks again for replying to me, and yes safty dose come first, and that is why I am building the wot 4 I know i will love it, may have another plane after the wot before I take the big beast out, anyway need to get to scratch with the flying first to pass the B test.
just for the fun of it all, I still want to get the EuroBat ready for that day. thanks! taking the advice.... Happy flying Buddy.........
