I have two engines that are nearly identical.
One came off a Stihl weedeater and the other one a Ryobi.
Did Ryobi make weedeaters for Stihl or visa-vesa??
Anyway, the Ryobi one seems lighter to me.
Its the one with the black plastic backplate on the motor.
The white backplate is the Stihl.
Which one should I try to convert?
And if I decide the Stihl, will the conversion kits for a 31cc Ryobi fit it?
One last question, I know I have to have the factory flywheel milled down some.
But how to I get the metal pins out of it that the starter sprags rotate on without damaging
the flywheel itself?
I don't want it to blow up on me!!
Thanks

from my experience both engines are the same , look on the engine side of the flywheel, you can see the two pins,
hammer and punch you can drive them out.

If from back side you cannot see the pin ends real good...look for a dimple and drill it out a little so you can punch the pins out more easy. Capt,n
