The displacement is 18 cc, bore is 29mm. i purchaced this engine some 10 or more years ago, it has a magneto ignition. i got it as seconhand , this engine has a plated cylinder and just 2 ports, cylinder head is one piece with liner. lately it came up to my mind to convert it to CDI so i removed the flywheel ,machined a prophub and fixed the Hall in the backside of the crankshaft-adjustable.i ordered the CDI from unitedhobbies xyz. the carb is a walbro WA170 . my problem is with carb as the gaskets are dry and stif and they are not available in my place , so i patiantly cut the gasket out of solartex, it worked for a while but the gas melted the solartex rubber-or what everit is. any how the engine is promesing .i will tell you more once i find the gaskets.

Had a couple of TD 24s about ten yrs ago when I ran a small motor repair. Came from Green Machine weedwackers. Had DPK carbs on them. These carbs were diaphram metered with a slide valve like the Mikuni carbs. Round cylinder outside like a great big glow engine. ran very well. Kawasaki quality. These were moded with CH ign.

I have a KT12 Kawasaki, would that mean 12cc? it's still in weedie form, haven't torn into it at all yet, it has a nifty little inline primer bulb, might steal that for something else...

I have a couple of those green machine ones too, nice looking engines...

Probably so. They show the 18 and 24cc but then again my repair manual is 1988 vintage

looked closer at the tag, it says 22.6cc. this looks to be of the vintage of your manual if not older... has the mikuni type carb also like the green machines do, although they say Xenoah on the side of the engines... the kawasaki even has the bicycle shifter type throttle and an itty bitty little handle, engine looks tiny for what it is, smaller than the poulan 18cc, and is comparable to the size of my Echo 16cc

That would be a Xenoah engine then, another very good little engine. I have an Echo too which has a Kioritz engine on it All of these Japanese engines are very high quality.

this 22.6cc kawasaki is a beast!!! runs perfect, I would put the power level up at that of the 30cc homie and 32cc mac, instant throttle response, I didn't touch any needles, doesn't look like the whole thing has been touched in about 10 years.

I might have worded my previous post odd, I was saying the green machine engines said xenoah, was just saying they had the slide valve carb like the kawasaki...

it's not yet, I just started it in weedie form, but it had two strings that were fairly large, and I know the throttle response and sound of the homie and mac, and it's up there with them... plus I'm thinking of putting this one in a boat, since I don't have one of those yet...

As i said before, i need the gaskets to repair my walbro -well i couldnt find them. i adapted a barrel tipe carb with an 11 mm hole which was on 61 FRS replica made in china ,it worked . idle at2200 and max at 6000 with a 15x8 prop . i tryed to lower the idle by fidling with the CDI angle and carb needles adjustments , well that is it 2200 not less, probably due to no pump on the carb . tank level is sensetive but throttle responce is without hesitation. i will take pix and post them. i thought barrle tipe carbs can not replace walbro but it did and well. more refinements will follow.
