Have all the sharpest guys on the net moved on ?
A friend and I did some prep running on a converted poulan 46cc, and a 42 cc today. mainly break in and needle adjusting. I should say my friend did the work, I just sort of help move and tie down motor stands ! hahah
Are the cheap chinese motors killing the postings ,economy,or is it just the lack of good deals on the right motors? It sure has been quiet in here.

I'm still here.... Haven't had much time to play with my engines, but I try to keep up with the forum anyway.
I was just out flying my Twist 60 with the Super Tiger .90 on Gas/Glow. Sure runs good. 12000 rpms on an APC 13 x 6 definitely pulls that Twist around nicely...

Been flying the heck outa my converted ST90. Love that thing. It's on a Goldberg Tiger 2 and the combo is just a joy to fly. Cheap to run too!

I have a Como C90 9 (same as ST S90?) That i would like to convert to gas or glow/gas. Are the conversions you have talked about this engine, or the G90 (91)?
I imagine all the details are in this thread or referenced here, but basiczlly what mods to the engine are needed except the 1/4-32 park plug, electronic CDI, and the magnet to trigger the sensor? Is the Como/ST conrod good to go with 20:1 gas/oil?
Thanks in advance.

We are talking about the Super Tiger G-90 with specially modified rods/crankpins to run roller bearings, and running Walbro or Zama carbs.

I am running mine on 16:1 synthetic without problems and it uses the stock bushed rod. I have converted both the older S90 and the newer G90 with equal results. My ST51 is still using the glow carb but the 90 has a walbro on it. All of the ignition components, including the hall effect mount, came from Bill at CH Ignition. Great guys to deal with and there are no better ignition products made IMHO.

I notice that some are running this conversion on Gas/Glow and some on CDI.
What are the adbvantages/disadvantages of each? Is there a power or ease of operation factor in either?
For a sport use engine is the needle bearing addition to con rod necessary?
Thanks for any info.

I fly .010-.15, but cleaning out my dads basement, I found a robin and an echo weedeater....where are you guys getting the electronic ignitions from?...I just started reading here today so Dont know a lot about conversions, what planes are these going in mostly?...Rog
I dont know the cc of the engines but the bulb on the robin engine turned to hard plastic and broke when I pushed it, but it still has compression....

Ok, I'd rather see a pic, but I can gamble on $13 for a glow plug adapter...now of the 2 engines the Robin (Fuji) is a NB-16S dont know what that means but thats what it says,, it is the older weedwaker and has a Walbro Far East solid plastic carb (honest),,,the Echo (Kioritz corp) is a GT-200Ce with a Walbro WA 143 one of these I probably need as a weedwaker, which would you use for rc?...I have no problem changing out the rings if they are still available...the throttle body is tiny on both of them, maybe 10 mm eyeballing it,,there are some other serial numbers, but I didnt see where that would help,,if any of this tells you what cc the engines are (i'm guessing 16 and or 20cc how much weight would the plane need to be and what size prop would I need to build a spad trainer to fly?...thanks...Rog

I am dabbling in this somewhat... I have a few ryobis in the works, and am thinking of finding a homelite 33cc to put in an ESM P-47... anyone have any guesses on fit & performance?? Some have flown this plane on a CRRC Pro 26cc with ok results... I wonder how the Homelite would compare? I'm not going to give up glow or electric, but I am "pumped" on going gas for a while!! hee hee
