How do you like and prop a poulan 42cc?

Just thought I'd start a new thread instead of even researching it first !
Its slow lately around here, and I figured someone out there has some stick time with a poulan 42cc conversion. My friend has just installed the first we have converted into his DR1..that thread is around here somewhere. I wondered what you guys flying them have to say? My buddy stuck with the magneto, he didn't go electronic.
We have used the 46cc poulan a bit , but are new to the 42cc. I THINK the 42 is a longer stroke possibly ..its definately a heavier motor than the 46..especially after having to build a magneto/mount for it...
Any good or bad comments out there?

My Feedback: (6)
Yeah, the Poulan 42cc is heavier than the 46cc, but it is a good engine none the less. If I remember right, the exhaust timing was a bit short on mine. 150 degrees is a pretty good all around exhaust duration number.
I flew the hell out of mine, and had no problems. I ran mine on Gas/Glow. It pulled my Giant Stik around with a lot of authority. I'm talking 20 to 30 foot take off rolls, and then vertical or nearly so! My brother conned me out of mine, and it is going to go on a 78" Edge 540. I expect it will do fine...
Probably a 20 x 6 or possibly a 20 x 8 would be a good prop for your application.
Enjoy,
