Default converting zenoha 23 to electronic ignition

Im converting zenoha 23 to electronic ignition using XYZ CDI, where should the timing be set?Is it ok to remove the flywheel to make lighter?are there any web sights showing how to do the conversion?

28 degrees before top dead center is your timing position

If the flywheel is not used for ignition it can be removed

Heres pic of my echo 24cc.
Basiclly the same size, ect as the zenoah.A clone.
Make yours look like mine.

You can drill out the center of your flywheel with a hole saw, then just attach a prop hub, screwed onto the threads.
Theres lot of pics, and descriptions here in this forum.

Look up the thread entitled,(dont forget echo).
Its a long one,so just weed through the pics and descriptions.
It will take up less of your time.

Anymore questions, just ask here,we all will help when we can.

The G-23 and 26 have the flywheel in the back. So machine a ring for the magnet that will go over the rear of the prop hub, use a set screw to lock it in the correct place for timing.

The G-23 comes in 2 models. The older one has just one coil . A large one in the rear. It has a different pattern than the new G-23.
The new design G-23 has 2 coils a mag coil in the rear and a spark coil in the front.
The new G-23 and the G26 magneto ignitions will interchange as will the conversions.. The old style will NOT.

If you can machine a hub, then making a magnet ring for the stock hub is even easier.
