RE: Echo BME twin
Well, I see where you are going with the crank, but you would need to install longer crankpins for where they go into your center crank "joiner". The crank "joiner" would be a tricky piece to make, and the crank pins would have to be a precise press fit into the joiner. Then you would need a two piece crankcase that splits down the middle for assembly. No need to make up custom "clam shell" rods, you just put the rods in place on the crank before it is all pressed together. If it were me, I would then also pin those pressed joints.
It just seems a lot easier to use an Echo or Stihl or some other engine that uses a non-cantilever crankshaft to begin with. Nice drawings by the way... AV8TOR |
RE: Echo BME twin
I made the manifold to use one carb and an updated video. These muffler are resticting the engine but good enough to break in. I ended up using 21 cc cylinders because I couldnt find four good 23cc . Heres the video

RE: Echo BME twin
It has nice throttle response

RE: Echo BME twin
It sounds nice too. If you notice it does not seem to have the power you expect I would try a smaller prop. I have a feeling those cylinders are ported to make best power and torque at higher rpms and that 27x10 might be lugging it too much.

RE: Echo BME twin
I think the mufflers are the biggest restriction and the engine is rich. I custom ported the tranfers . Ill have to make some headers and order new 23 cc cylinders
