Default Please help eagar newbie inital setup problems

Hi everyone. I have just got my honey bee king 2 a few days ago. Iam very eagar to get this thing hovering. I new to all this so please bare with me. I need to ask some questions and would love a repsonse from anyone who can help me out.

The issues i have got are as follows.

The tail blases and very very loose so loose they just flap about do i need to tighten the screws so they are both fixed pointing staright ??

For some reason i dont get a response from the tail servo either when i turn left and right on the left stick which is also my throttle mode 2 i think ?? Is there any usal causes ?

when i turn it on first the gyro flashes red fast then contines to flash slowly ???? is this normal

The paddles at the top can be moved up and down very easy is this right ???

Do i tight the main blades up also so they can be folded back like when you get it out of the box ???

Also when iam fairly near with the transmitter the heli somtimes twitches ????

When i turn the transmitter off the heli somtimes throttles up for a second ???

Finally lol , if i click the top left switch normal / stunt i think it is the heli spins the blades like crazy

sorry for long list please please help

Thanks

to allow the gyro to set up propperly you need to centre the rudder trim on the transmitter and wait for the gyro to set, rear blades just need to be nipped up

just put the tail blades as straight as you can. They should be loose enough to be able to move, but not loose enough that when you put one up and let it go that it will fall back down

NEVER TURN THE TRANSMITTER OFF BEFORE YOU UNPLUG THE BATTERY ON THE HELI. ALWAYS>...........1. Unplug Heli from battery 2. Turn off Transmitter. ALWAYS!

Did I stress that enough .

Gyro Not Arming (flashing red fast to flashing red slow). Rudder trim needs to be centered or close to center.

Tail Blades and Main Rotor blades should be snugged up so that you can lightly tap them and they move.

Paddles should move easily.

Servos twitching when you are close. Could be radio glitching.

Normal/Stunt switch. You really should not be using that as you are learning. NEVER FLIP THIS SWITCH WHEN THE ROTORS ARE NOT SPINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should flip this switch after you have spooled the motor up to Half stick or better. But as I said, just starting out stay away from that switch .

Hope this helps.

ok great tips thanks please keep them coming. ok for some reason the led on the gyro is now working and so is the tail servo ??

I have read the instuctions but i was hoping you guys would give me a much better guide to getting this baby in the air.

What do i first need to do out of the box once everything is set ie :

1..main blades are tightened enough so they dont move if u tap gently with ur finger but little presser they will fold in like what they come like out the box if u get me

2..Same tightness with the tail blades

So does anyone have any suggestions on settings etc where i should have the knobs set to on the transmitter etc

It may sound silly but iam i looking for a perfect flat spining blade when i put little throttle on etc ? if someone could walk me through a few things that would be great

If you are lucky, it will hover right out of the box. My Honeybee King needed a lot of prepping before it would hover. Make sure the flybar paddles are set equally level. zero degrees of pitch angle. Also, after you have everything together and battery in check the center of gravity. Rotate the main rotor blades so they're parallel to the boom then lift the heli by the flybar. It should lift level. If it doesn't move the battery forward or backward to get it level. You can use velcro to hold the battery in place. You should also check blade tracking. when the blades are rotating you should only see one blade If you see two then the blades need to be adjusted. Make sure all the screws are tight. A philips #0 and #00 come in handy. You'll need to try to get it in a hover and see how it behaves to make corrective adjustments. Invest in a pair of ball link pliers. they make removing ball links a snap and save you from sore finger tips.

For the record, the looser the tail blades are the more crash resistant they are.

Mine flop all over the place, and the heli works perfectly. It seems to be a matter of personal preference. My CPP broke tail blades all the time, but my king (even after a tail bounce) is running stock tail blades.

thanks again everyone for your help. Has anyone got any tips at all for tracking the blades and adjusting the gyro slightly to keep the tail under control when trying to take off.

The top two switches PITCH TRIM and THROTTLE CURVE PITCH will i need to play / tweak these in order to get it off the ground or shall i set them both to 0 ????

The problem I am having with tracking is what exactly iam looking for what should the main blades look like when spining if iam they are at eye level ???

A helicopter will by it's nature slide to the left before take off. You just have to learn how to counter it. For help with learning how to fly I suggest following the guide here. [link]http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html[/link]

Good luck,
John
