Default Unknown Diesel engine - can you identify?

I know someone that has this engine. It doesn't appear to be a traditional diesel, but it has a contra piston it looks like. Just trying to help him identify the make/model. It's very small - I US quarter dollar for scale.

It has some resemblance to a Ukrainian RIRE Fora 09 Diesel that I own. I'm guessing that it's rear exhaust and has a drum valve, it's a bit hard to make out detail in the pics..

I'll guess it it's a Fora 020-049 variant even though I've never even seen a pic of one. .There was a glow Fora 020 with r/c throttle and front induction though.

I don't know the engine, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned that it is TINY!!

For those outside the USA, a dime - USA$0.10 - is about 48mm in diameter. It does look about the size of a Cox PeeWee 0.02 (reed valve) glow engine.

I'll be one of those interested to learn just what it is.

It was mentioned on another forum as possibly being a FIT .020 diesel I believe. I do not own the engine, I was just trying to spread the word in hopes of identifying it. It is a cute little thing.

With something that small, you would likely need to run 90% ether and 10% oil, maybe even more ether. Maybe a pinch of cetane booster thrown in too.

Actually a US dime is 18mm in diameter(a bit less than 3/4"), which makes it a very small engine indeed!

The FIT range of glow and diesel engines were produced in the Netherlands a few decades ago IIRC. Mostly performance 2.5cc glow and diesel engines for international class FAI competation I believe.

Sounds reasonable that they could have produced an 020 Diesel.

However I've since discovered a FITS range of small diesels made in the Czech Republic on the Ron Chernich MAN site..

Ron also has a pic of a FITS glow twin.

I guess those Fits are the ones with the square pistons.

No, I think that they were the Doesn't Fit range of diesels.
