PAW 19 rpm

PAW 19 rpm
I have recently purchased a PAW .19 TBR from Dr. Diesel. What rpm should I get using the muffler with a 9" prop? The most I can get is around 9,400 and that seems low. I seem to get about the same rpm using a 10-4.

Steve,
You are close but to get a reasonable airspeed you might want to consider increasing pitch to 6". This would give around 55 mph. The diesels like more load then the glow engines. The 19 will turn a 10x6 prop just fine for most uses. Make sure you have good fuel with enough ether and turn the compression so that after it is running about 20 sec you tune the needle then adjust the compression. Go up on compression until it just starts to lose rpm then back-off 1/8 turn ish to smooth out.

Thanks for the help Dennis. I have been bench running the engine and I've been tuning it like you described. This is my first experience with a diesel and I wanted to make sure I was at least in the ballpark.
