35cc gass on diesel. is it possible ?
Hi
I have a 35ccm chainsaw engine I have converted to use on airplanes. Is it possible to convert that to run on dieselfuel? I think of making a kind of compression adjustment thing to sett in, instead of the sparkplug.

Hi Tom, yes, it is possible to convert the cainsaw as diesel engine, see the post #124 and #125 in this link: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=5224759

Hi Jens Eirik. Looks like I have to cut off the head from the sylinder, to get it to work. I cant just make "something" to use insted of the sparkplug. ?

You could, if the compression ratio was high enough. The only way to increase the compression ratio to that required is to remove the top of the cylinder jug and make a new combustion chamber of the proper size. At this point you can use a conventional contrapiston. I've also talked with someone who used this method.

Ok I understand. should I drill the holes for the bolts before I remove the topp of the sylinder, I think it will make easyer to get the head in the right plase after the contrapiston is done.
