Default Eagle 50 questions

Hi and thanks for the forum.

I just got an Eagle 50 and have a few questions.

Can the AC adapter for the battery charger be used to power the Tx too?
Also, I've been trying to connect to a sim program with the supplied cable, but haven't had any luck. I'm using WinXP and have tried it with ClearView and the Reflex XTR Demo. I also tried connecting through the sound card with SmartPropoPlus and PPJoy. I get some kind of signal, but nothing stable enough to set up or calibrate.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes the DC plug to the TX is actually for testing at the assembly. So the ac that come with it is 12V so it can be used on the TX but then it's not portable.

for the simulator i only got it to work once with the real flight simulator and that's a very old version and it was free. It's windows 2000

ok make sure you serial port is turn on.

Thanks for the reply. I hope to use the DC plug to save batteries while running it on a sim (if I ever get it to work) and basic practice in my yard.

Serial port is working and I get a signal in WinScope but it is just noise.

Hi - I own an Eagle 50. This is my first rc heli and i have torn up a few rotor blades! I need to find a supplier. An internet search has turned up some Cali company (Im in Pitts, PA) with like 5 different e-commerce websites. I have ordered from them and will continue to! However, they are out of stock!

Well, my question is:

Can I use Walkera 22E blades or replacement parts? Are these 2 helis identical, similiar, or what. I have noiticed some sites mention that the replacement parts will fit.

Thanks for any help!

As far as I can tell, the Walkera 22e and Venom Night Ranger 3D parts are identical. Also, ExceedRC (http://www.exceedrc.com/sparepart50h03.html) and NitroModels (http://www.nitroplanes.com/fa40sppa.html) show blades in stock. Good luck.

Excellent - Thanks.

I believe RaidenTech.com, nitromodels, xheli, and some others are all "the same guys". I already tried to order from Raidentech and they were out of stock. So, I tried xheli. Curious as to the similiarity between their websites - i called the customer service number. The man (named Norman) was extremely nice and laughed saying they were both "him" along with many other websites. Also, he said he was out till the next delivery from China (1 week). The email from Raidentech.com said 3 to 4 weeks but I guess that was some sort of form email. He also suggested i call him on Friday (that was the next day) and he would "find one for me".

All in all he was very friendly and helpful, but if the walkera is identical then I can do some more internet searching and get some other suppliers.

Anyway - thanks so much for the reply and I'll order a Walker set of main rotor blades and post my results.

Thanks!

The power supply for the charger, does not work with the transmitter. I tried that when i first got the helicpter, the power imput is to high for the controler, it began to smoke, it then caused the transmitter to not work correctly.

The funny thing is, raidentech.com, xheli.com, nitroplanes.com and I'm sure many other online RC shops all seem to be registered by a Jun Ma in California... I think this is too much of a coincidence to overlook. I would say they are definitely run by the same person. What is truly strange is that the prices are xheli.com seem to be slightly higher than the prices at raidentech and nitroplanes. This might be because the rep for xheli is slightly better than the rep for the other two. I have heard nothing but bad things regarding raidentech and nitroplanes. Raiden Technologies has a HORRIBLE BBB record, with 19 unanswer complaints and an F rating by the BBB. I wouldn't recommend purchasing from any of these shops and I would do a WHOIS search on any other site that looks like it might be affiliated with them just to make sure you're not getting jipped. I recommend http://www.whois.net for this service. It's free and easy, just type in the website you want to check and go.
