Default engine problem

In order for me to start up my buggy, I have to screw in the idle adjusting screw enough. After I screwed it in, the buggy accelerates a bit.I unscrewed it a bit but then the engine starts up and then turns off. What do I do?

In the carb the idle screw should allow a 1mm opening. You low speed needle should be flush with its collar and the high speed needle should be turned out about 3 1/2 turns. Hope this helps

3 1/2 is too much on the high needle, 2 1/2 is a good base setting on the vx

I adjusted the idle screw to where it allowed a 1mm opening but it won't start and I had the high speed needle turned out 2 1/2 turns.I can ony get it started with it accelerating. Is this because I might have broked the engine in wrong?

Cirec, I think yadac is right on the gap. Make it 2mm and see if that helps. If you have to give it gas to start it.
