They seem to load okay. How about walking us through how you do it, step by step and we'll tell you how it's going sideways. LOL.

Thanks Don I think I may have found the problem I was able to upload the pictures earlier however before I was able to finish the post I got booted off line and before I could get on again you had beat me to it. It isn't always clean only immediateley after cleaning and you didn't see the 4 x 8 table in the other part of the basement. Thanks Again

Hey Don! I got my retracts and should have the SU27 standing on its own three legs this weekend. I should have the weight and balance done as well. will post a pic or two then.

Sounds great! I have no update on my MiG. I have really been in the grips of some serious cabin-fever-induced depression the last week or so. I absolutely don't feel much like working on my planes when I get home from work. I need a vacation but that is still 5 weeks away (Your Super Duellist .60 will be on it's way as soon as I get down south).

Still awaiting motivation

Well Don if you don't get to it the Mosquitoes will get you BIG time on your first test flight ...I hear that you have so many Mosquitoes that the leading edge of the wing gets lumps of them on there and kills the lift

Well almost time to test fly .... I had to add weight to the back end to get it to balance ...so first of I did the lateral balance and added 1 1/4 oz + a bit ...then to move the weight a far aft as possible I made a hatch in the stinger and had to add 8oz to get it to balance as Rich has suggested .... for a total via fish scale 8.9

Now I did some mods along the way and have posted them so along with the mods and a rather heavy Evo 1.00NX ( with muffler) at 28.26oz would seem to explain the total weight.

Anyway here are some pics ..I will have to make two posts.

Here is one of my home-brews! I noticed you were hanging your plane... figured you were avoiding the flat spots on the tires. Here is a stand I made using 3/4" Owens Corning insulating foam board I bought at the Home Depot! The plane sits nicely on a flat top slab of foam between the fake engine nacelles. Probably would work great on your MIG as well.

It is also the perfect way to test the retract system without needing someone to hold up the plane!

Right on cool Rich !! I can make one each for the MIG and SU ...as for the String ...that was my home made lateral balancer ..the wheels are about 1" off the table top .... works well.

Boy, clear skies andan umbrella.

The snow may be gone by the weekend up here...with any luck. But my MiG isn't ready and the SU is still in the box so I'm living vicariously through you guys.

No not yet ... Just had a fellow flier go out to our field this evening and check that it is now clear of snow and dry ..but the road in to it still has a foot or so of snow to clear off ... with the great spring weather we are having this week it should be fine to get in there this weekend.

Have to get the rust off my flying skills with the Strikemaster then will get to the MIG then the SU.. should be a blast ..and yes I will try and get video and still pics.

ChuckL ... good friend on mine was painting a couple of his own and did mine as well. What we do is 1) Clean well with soap and water 2) Then use a (soft) pot and pan scrubber that you find in your kitchen to scuff the inside (only) lightly so the paint will stick 3) Your choice of black paint.

BUT ...make sure that you pre-drill a few 1/16" vent holes along the sides of the canopy. I use a hand drill and drill three 45dg upward slant holes along each canopy side ( you can also use a red hot T pin to make holes ). This way after you paint you can us a pin to clear the holes of paint and the vents are invisible from the side view.

The holes are to displace the heat build up and pressure that will develop in the sun while you drink a cold one

The best part about the paint on the inside is the canopy will always be shinny and the paint will not scratch off. Even if you did get a couple of scratches on the outside they will be hard to see.

I have just bought a SU 27 and look forward to my builder getting ti ready for the flying season. I have a rossi 91 DF engine sitting around collecting dust. I notice that everyone here seems to be putting on the Jett 90. My question is.. Is the extra weight of the Rossi going to be a bad thing? Thank you

Well...
Mine isn't ready yet, but since the plans show all the radio gear stuffed all the way back in the tail of the plane, nose weight is probably the last thing you need. The battery and receiver are actually located in the fake jet engine exhaust nozzles...

Rudeboy... That may depend on the total weight of the motor that he will use ..the Evo is 28.8 oz and it did take 8 0z in the tail over and above the radio gear. the dang muffler alone is 5 oz if I can find a lighter one the weight would drop for sure
