It's a different way of doing things, with the turbo so far back, just havent seen that sort of set up before.
That F16 has to be 1 of the nicest around, far better than the old 1 they put out. Might have to see if I can get one out here.
The F20 is very diferent to alot of the other stuff at my club, & no one has an F16!!

I was running my 14x5 prop for the first couple of flights to be easy on my motor.

14x5 and 12x5? Dude- try something like a 12x7 or 11x8 for speed--- Nothing with a 5 pitch will go very fast.

I guess I may be a *scale* speed freak, as of tonight...... Just finished a Great Plains "Heritage Warbird Series" P-51-40 size. I tried an O.S. Surpass 70, well not enough......After some serious fuselage stengthening and stuffing an FS120 in the cowling, I just had to top it off with a 13X10 APC 4 blade and 3 1/2" Tru Turn Spinner. I'll post pictures soon.

Anybody ever done something similar?[>:]

Not in a 40 size--- My brother and I had a YS-120 in a TF P-51 (60 size) and it had awesome power!

No worries Vicman,
I got the brothers sign off the Revver Logo II Please Re-Vote!! thread, & used a ready made skull & cross bones that the local vynal cut sticker place.

I will have the F20 going soon , but have a lot of stuff put on back order all over the planet..........just got to wait.[sm=angry.gif]

Not sure if I qualify as a speed freak anymore due to the untimely demise of my turbine, but here are some of my fast planes...

Fellas....look at the check in [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_530698/anchors_530699/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#530699]here[/link].

We kinda like to use the Pledge as an introduction, and gives the new Bro's
a chance to post pictures of their speed planes and such.

Dave.

Everytime I see one of your posts C4F I feel like going home and slapping my wife. (not endorsing spousal abuse here, just an expression blaming her for all my economic woes. Even tho it is probably my fault) You always show up with the coolest toys!

Viceman,

It has been avery lean year, the house needs a roof and no $$$ yet. Just a trace of OT in the first quarter and 3 guys laid off in my department right now. I have been busting balsa on ebarf on an estate sale. look for jettfreak58 for myu postings. I am trying to put some coin together for a Jett .60LX FIRE-headder-pipe for my not yet flown Spyderman~Whiplash.

Me too.....

....I've got more stuff than I could ever use, and I bought two new YS
engines this week. [X(]

Is this a sickness or what ? 35 years in the hobby, and I'm getting worse !

well the estate sale had: 115 new and used engines, 75+ kits NIB and a few arfs. 4 large boxes of props. 30+/- planes most have damage, most radios are 4 channel to am-wideband obsolete...NIB Herb Walh ignition engines that were gold plated, several OS NSU Wankels, sold many open rocker OS FS-60 FS-75 and FS-90...just an incredible collection.

"Hi, my name is Neo, and I am a Speed Plane Addict.
I have been a Lover of Speed Planes for 1 week,
and with the help of the Revvers Brother-hood I hope to
make my planes even FASTER !!!

Neogenesis

Second......unforunately I couldn't drop the cash down for the weston or jett, but seeing that this is my first adventure into a speed plane, I'll keep it a bit tame at first with a Super Tigre .40 till I get comfortable with her and then I'll put the juice to it with either or jett or something similar.

Welcome Neo..... good to see another Ohio guy on here
You are on the right track. Nothing wrong with a ST40 .... it can perform very well for you. Just burn some holes in the sky, and enjoy it !

One of the my most frequently suggested speed setups to folks is a simple ThunderTiger .40 with a tuned muffler on it. Inexpensive, reliable and thrilling. The ST can do the same.

Thanks Bob,

Can't wait to get her in the air seeing that there is a DD and a Shrike that are both flying at our club. It should be a load of fun to get them all going at once. I am looking into a different muffler for the ST to hopefully gain some HP and RPM, but not coming up with much unless I go to a full pipe? I've looked at the Mac's pme piece muffler, but that's about all I've found. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Neo
