Neo.........
The full pipe will work well. The Mac on-piece-muffler is a good product, but provides no boost.
A Jett-Stream or Ultra-Thrust muffler will bolt on, and give you a significant performance increase without any hassles.
(shown here on an OS46 - available for any engine)

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted
I am working on a Delta wing spad, Should easily hit 100 when done,
25 inch wingspan 20 inches long and a 40 LA,
The possibilites are endless.
This weekend i am going to just go out and use it as a glider, because i have NOTHING else to fly.

Um... I don't know if it is me or what but nothing with a .40 LA should count as a speed bird[sm=surprised.gif]. Nothing against you PC, in fact if you got a turbine mounted on your avvy victim you would get my vote with a lite stick.
Keep in mind it isn't speed minded people. The brotherhood consists of freaks.[sm=bananahead.gif][sm=stupid.gif][sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
UUHMMM, those are my wife's kids.... yeah I had nothin to do with that.[sm=bananahead.gif]

RE: SPEED!!
"Hi, my name is Bob, and I am a Speed Plane Addict.
I have been a Lover of Speed Planes for 2years,
and with the help of the Revvers Brother-hood I hope to
make my planes even FASTER !!!
My screamers are:
A 40 Shrike, powered by an OS 40 LA turning an 10x8 prop. Maybe 100 mph, but I don't know. I've been going up in prop pitch, and I think the 10x8 is about it for Old Blue. Next year I'm going to put a 46 LA on it. That's probably about all it can stand without shedding the wings, as I didn't do anything special in the way of reinforcement.
A Jim Ryan P-38 Lightning powered by Astro 020s.
A Stinger pylon racer, powered by an Astro 020.
I'm currently building a 1/2A Shrike that will be powered by an Astro 020. It will be my "suitcase" airplane that I can take to remote job sites.
....Bob, it looks like you are well on your way to becoming an addict....
Revver Bro #123 is assigned to you....[sm=thumbup.gif]
Rev on, my Brothers....

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted
I have a 1/2a Shrike with a Wasp 061 that is not all that fast, and when the engine quits, it drops like a rock. Got a buddy with the 1/2a with the Astro 020. Fast, and the greater control of electic allows you to make it back to the field under power. Let us know how it works out

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted
Don't know if this is fast enough but here's a pic of me at an airshow at the New Richmond, WI airport this past July where I was the warm-up act.
There's me with my Lyle Larson Dago Red Q40 with a Nelson Q40 engine. I flew for the crowd doing large loops along the flight line.
I didn't dare roll much, just do a fly- by, climb into a big loop let it go inverted and climb out and come back down over along the flight line.
Going somewhere between 180&200 MPH's in a big dive, otherwise it goes 175 on the straight and flat.
