Well I think this is all much ado about nothin'! I have onsite experience with manufacturing in China and I can tell you that they are masters of reverse engineering and duplication of a product making it impossible to tell who made it. My company produced a complex electro-mechanical device there and within weeks of release two other Chinese factories were producing an exact duplicate. They contract local parts vendors and also get parts from the same vendor that makes parts for the original often buying up floor sweepings normally scrapped. That's why some work and some don't. It's just a box of chocolates.
