I'm sure this is funny. At Banana Hobby, there is an ongoing problem that you may want to consider.
Last month I placed an order. So far my card has been charged 3 times, and 2 overdraft fees waived by my bank, and counting.
Finally, after cancelling my order, they ship, or at least the time of this writing. Because they operate...slow... waiting for me to make a complaint with the BBB. Then ship...and so forth.
So tomorrow I may find they have not yet shipped.
I have explained the situtation to Visa, my Bank, and the Better Business Bureau. Yet I cannot explain it to employees of Banana.

Thanks Mike...I finally got "Brad" to acknowledge cancelling my order
I have yet to see the refunds.
I'm checking with my bank in the morning...end of the business day here already

They actually shipped it now!! I cancelled my order two days ago. I asked them to make the refund, and they say they have, however, neither Visa nor the bank sees it, since 2/23/2010!! What a mess!!
Needless to say, they've tied up about 400.xx of my working cash. Just enough to screw my budget for this time around.
I wouldn't wish this shxx on my worst enemy.
Wondering why I didn't trust the other posts I'd seen....Doh!!

I don't know if they accept it but i always pay with american express whenever possible. If i have dispute i call amex and they refund my money while i'm still on the phone and then they take it up with the seller. Had this happen on ebay several times. you may pay $75 a year to have one but they have real custommer service.

I would never would order from them , but every month you see more eye candy and more newbees ask "hey I want this plane "
so my advice is really simple if you can not resist losing your hard earned money , use a temporary credit card that is a gift card loaded with the amount that you plan to spend and make sure the card is back by a reliable bank.
So in simple terms , you can go to Walmart , buy a card or two cards $100 each =$200 plust the fee (typically ) 3 to $4 a card , then they can not keep charging your real bank card

I have no experience with BH and after reading all the issues with them, i most likely never will but i will second kzguns recommendation and encourage everyone to always use a credit card for web or phone purchases from any business. If there is a dispute, the most you will likely suffer until it is resovled is making a couple of small payments. As i understand, and someone correct me if i am wrong, banks are not bound by law regarding issues with purchases the same as credit card companies are. Until the issue is resovled, if ever, your money is gone from your account and if a vendor just happens to make a mistake (after you have challenged them) and charge you again (by mistake of course) you will most likely get your money back but the bounced checks that result from it will be your problem. Never use a check card or electronic transfer to pay for these transactions. A credit card or PayPal account gives at least some protection and time to work out the issue without jeopardizing your checking account and keeping your cash tied up.

hey viper...I could have and will in the future use PayPal. Thanks for reiterating that. What this post is all about is fact-finding. Anyone else wants in on my class action, if I can get my lawyer to do it, is welcome to list on it. I will keep you all updated. I'm checking every day for a reversal, which I might never see.

Viper , the loadable cards are back by the back if you get the correct card .
This way you are limited to the money loaded on the card and still get the backing .
We only use loadable cards on ebay , sure enought my son bought a hockey stick and they were crashed into and an attempt (multiple attempts) were made to charge on his card , but no funds were approved .
Trust me on this matter , one subject is Banana , ebay and Paypal is a totally differant matter , palpay is 100% antiquited on security , we have has many friends have identity theft issues and you can even get them until regular banking hours

Just adding on the subject of PayPal that i do not use my bank account with them either but instead associate a credit card that i maintain a low credit limit on just for questionable purchases. The only problem is demanding that the credit limit not be increased by the CC company. They have a habit of doing that. In todays world, nothing is absolutely safe but using a credit card or paypal account that is linked to a credit card provides at least a chance of being protected.

good point guys , use cards with a limit and check if the bank trys to increase the amount .
Again I know nothing is 100% safe , BUt I was very disappointed in Paypal and ebay allowing so many attempts to a card that was at its limit $200 , my son still had to file reports and tell the credit agency why so many inquires were made to his card .
At 16 years of age , I did not appreciate that as a parent .
Banana is still operating like all is ok , so I guess the BBB does not care about the consumer

Banana refunded only second charge so far...172.94, contacted Federal Trade Commission and still waiting for first charge of 180.44 which they have posted, but has not been recognized due to their vendor for Visa purchasing.
