A few dents in the casing, but it turns without any noise or grinding so I am hoping that its OK, trouble is the pump had both of its electrical connections pulled off without leaving any tag to solder back onto, I am going to take it apart and have a look to see if it can be salvaged, the only real loss I can see so far is one servo that had its lead pulled out at the case I am also going to take the case off to see if I can reattach them.
I don't think I am going to replace the Elan as the Rookie fly's so much better and I have a spare airframe as well, have to give this some thought, but its early days yet.
I rearly fancy the new JetCat P20 when it becomes available, just for some quick visits to the field without all the paraphanalia one has to take for the bigger ones.

On the subject of your Rookie, is it a Mk I or Mk II, because the Mk II is a different animal, especially with full vector.
The Elan is not a bad flyer, just limited in what you can do compared to a full vectored thrust Rookie, its difficult to be subjective without starting an argument on here, but out of all the Boomerangs I have been told by those that know a lot more than me that the Elan is not as capable as the XL, I have flown an XL and would have bought one if it was a more resonable price compared to some of the composite's you can get, I just think they are a bit pricey for a fibreglass and wooden airframe.

Hi,
Hope the damage is light. Bob from JetCat has said he will be releasing the P-20 this month. I had the 20 on display at the Toledo show and it drew many people. I think I am done with the Boomerang series now that the Elan is dialed in. I hope to be building the Comp. Reaction over the winter and will have that on display at the Toledo show next year in April. The Reaction flys well and will be easier to transport. The wing span is 77" and the length is 77 1/2". I saw them fly at Michigan Jets last August and was very impressed. It flys well with a P-80se but will also take the P-120sx no problem. By the way, i figured out how to get the better quality on the Video. It's up there now on Youtube replacing whgat I posted. I'll post it late today or tomorrow.

Mike, I had the Rookie II, loads of fun until re-kitting. Interesting comments about the Elan, there are a lot of people who rave about it.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Elan is a very good aircraft, better than some I have flown wich includes some top end models, it serves a very good purpose as a large jet platform to cut your teeth on, but is easily outgrown if you fly it enough, it has no real vices that I have found, I never had the wooly elevator that some have experienced, even though I could blame my arrival on that, in fact I think I will from now on.
If you had asked me about the Elan about 25 flight in I would have raved about it as well, but after about 125 its time to move on to something a bit more demanding now that I have been forced into the decision.
I think I have solved the connections being ripped out of the pump, will post how I did it after I give it a good testing.

Hi,
That's the point I was trying to make. I have the Sprint and now the Elan and everyone says the Elan is the best out of the 4. I believe that.

Not everyone!!!!!!!
The Comp Reaction has to be the second ugliest airframe in existance, the first is the shock jet, don't do it Doc, get something pretty. LOL

Hi Mike,
The new Reactions looks much better than the old ones. What I really want is the A-4 from Tam but I would need to buy another Turbine. You can only use a P-70 on his and unless the grass is "real" short, it needs to fly off a hard surface. Any way, I like a lot of wing loading. Things are a little tight right now and I shouldn't even be thinking about another Jet but I don't want to go through the Winter with out building. You know how that is.

We are only at the begining of our season, it should be too early to be building, unless you have to LOL.
Solved the pump cabling problem, I drilled a 1mm hole through the brush holder and then opened it out to 3mm this allowed the insulation to go into the back plate, I then soldered the cables straight onto the brush arm, it worked so well that I did my spare pump as well, never did like the cables only being supported by the copper brush arm, soon as I am back on my Desktop PC I will post some pics. Also salvaged all the servo's out of the Elan, the main damage is to my 6014HS Rx and the Orbit power Jack, looks like both are not salvagable, well not by me anyway.

Hi,
You always have to plan ahead Mike. I guess you have never heard my famous quote: "The problem is people never plan to fail; they just fail to plan". Good news on all your electronics. Did you ever get your stuff from DW? Our weather could go bad as early as late September. I remember about 8 years ago we had 1-2" of snow every day for about 20 days and that started around October 17th. Were located about 30 miles from Lake Michigan which really controls our weather. I want to move back to AZ but the Wife wants no part of that. O well......[:@]

Not only do I have spare 6014HS Rx's I also have a spare Orbit Power Jack, oh yes and an extra turbine just in case, I buy everything in two's or in dozens according to the price.
The stuff from DW has arrived at my local postal depot, I have to pay the VAT and collection charges before they will deliver, trouble now is what do I do with them LOL.

Hi,
That is a 5000 foot runway, now inactive. We have permission to maintain and fly there. If we had a million Dollars, we could pruchase all of it. Great facility.

Solved the cables being pulled out of the fuel pump, Something wrong with RCU and cannot upload pics at the moment seems to be a recuring problem at this time of day, I think its when the US wakes up in the morning, between 1000 and 1130 GMT. LOL

Just fired up the P120SX and all seems fine, the pump was a bit slow, so I have taken the back plate off again and cleaned the brushe's and commuter, it now runs on 0.125 volts so that also is OK, still able to get 123,900 rpm and a nice idle, but the proof will not be until I put it back in an airframe and test fly it, buy at least I have a little confidence in it now.

Mike,
Good job on that. When ever there is a crash, the 1st thing we always wonder is "how is the Turbine". You came out really good on this one. Just don't let it happen again, you may not be so lucky. LOL
The pump looks to be fine but your right, the real test will be in the air frame. Sounds like your right on top of it.
