OMP M2 heli setup with futaba

I am sure when I ordered it they said I don't need an Sbus RX to connect to Futaba 18SZ. Anyone know for sure if I can connect without one? If not, I have to order one. Just got the 18SZ and am learning it. Been flying 9C for years and years and years
