Hi all, I found a good source of light foam. The Dollar Tree has sheets of 5mm foam that is really lite. I use it to make a bunch of flatouts, deltas. and pbf. Heres a few vids of them. I used a 850kv outrunner, 18a esc, 10x4.7, 7.4 800mah. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guAoPQbjhLQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXKzwpCokq0
That plane was made out of 1 sheet of foam. All the gear came out of a parkflyers gebee 3d.

Jumper, any tips for making the Revert motor edition? Looks real nice, I tried making the Revert glider but... didn't do so good. Should get my newest plane idea up on here. I got a boatload of foamcore on vacation (pieces of the HIGH DENSITY! stuff). Should make some sweet planes.

Unfortunately I will not be there.

Swing by the Hodge Hounds camp, you won't be able to miss it, they've taken over the area just to the left of the store.

Tell them I sent you, and that I hate them for having fun without me.

They'll laugh, offer you some food, and welcome you in.

I promise they'd love to see that nocturnal GeoBat

calvino, the acft is sooooooooooo simple that any tips have probably been given in previous posts. One challenge will be in getting the cg far enough forward. You can see from my photos how electronics were kept as forward as possible. One tip that might not have been given, is the motor. It cost only ~$20.

http://www.unitedhobbies.com/UNITEDHOBBIES/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5654&Product_Name=HXT_2835_(380S)_2200kv_Brushless_Inru nner

The motor mount is a sandwich. From bottom up: ply, Depron, Depron, ply, 3M double sided tape, and motor. All of this is cinched down tightly with two zip ties. The motor sinks or is drawn down into the 3M tape. This simple and easy to make mount is STRONG.

Other versions of this motor may be had for other projects. For instance, I have used them on Strykers with good results. Stryker with similar motor mount is shown.

Thanks for the tips. Shure is one cool plane, keep on trying to find something that works better than my slow stick (for speed) at making an AV. In a little competition against my friends about 45+ MPH rc car... so want to pass that thing on cam . Penpach, got AIM?

That's easy, find the 3 view of the Cessna 150, overlay it on the design for the BluBaby, for full fuse, or the STC.

Anyone want a really, really nice flying flat foam delta-wing jet? This evolved from an earlier version with thick foam; the new one's made of 5mm foamcore. I have no pics yet but the measurements are enough to build from. I've got a very crude MS Paint drawing which may help for now.

I'm running mine with a 1500kV outrunner and a 7x7 wood tractor prop at about 310-330W on a 1300mAh 25C 3S lipo. 75, perhaps 80mph top speed with almost unlimited vertical. It'll slow down nicely for landing, too, and it's pretty aerobatic. Pics hopefully soon.......

Cool thread ! nice stuff!
Here's one of my creations. I call it Simplicious. Its 22" ,2mm dep, no carbon, 4.65oz with a GS 18-15-25/2000kv, 6x4 apc, t-bird9 esc, TP ProLite V2 250 3s., Spektrum rec., and 3 JR S185 servos for elevons and rudder. It actually snaps and spins like crazy if you want to. you can make all the parts out of one sheet of depron.
I thought if a guy covered one with tape it'd be good for combat?!... or make one 25% bigger-27.5", out of coroplast!! LOL!!

Here some pictures and a link to a video of my Foam Profile B-58 Hustler. She flies great and looks fantastic in the sky. She is made from a 2'x4'x1/2" sheet of foam insulation from HomeDepot. Too much fun.
