Fred;
Just saw your post with thr DR-1 - where did you get the plans / kit for it?
I would love a triplane, but haven't found anything cheap enough to build [X(]
Thanks
Terry

Will bump up this thread with a pic of a hybrid stick and foam IPS powered sort of old timer. 36inch WS weight is about 8 ozs RTF. Putts around the sky very scale-like.

Here's a F7U Cutlass currently under construction using 3-views and J. Morgans build thread over at RCG. 39" WS, 40" length. Blue-cor Fan Fold and balsa wing, pink foam fuse and nose.

Rick, now that is looking sweet.
Here's one I have under construction, it is a E-Starter fuse that's been modified and depron, it is a float plane modled after the aerocat amphibian. I should get my floats today

Very cool AJ! Bashing stuff together is a hoot! I'm thinking of turning my old sky scooter into a float plane. Add another project to the looooooong list Have a nice holiday!

AJ,
Thanks! And yes she flies very well. Takes quite a heafty hand launch to get her going. She's not fast but flies with very scale movements and looks great going by. Been a real fun project. Here are a couple of in flight pics. Happy flying.

Coolbean,
She's made from bluecor fan-fold, balsa & pink foam. The total cost for the airframe including paint & decals was probably less than $25.00.

RE: Show us your scratch built foamys
Coolbean,
The pink foam can be seen in post #54. I got it in 3' X 8' X 1" thick panels. It's used for insulation just like the bluecor. I belive it's a Dow Corning product. I laminated 6 pieces of 1" X 28" X 7.5" pink foam to create 2 blocks 3" X 28" X 7.5" to make the two fuse halves. The pics show the wing with the balsa and bluecor build-up, the two mentioned pink foam fuse halves after being hogged out with a make-shift hot wire cutter & the plane with the fuse, nose section and wing/elevons being test fit.

2 meter wing, ailerons w/ flaps, breaks down as shown, elevator and rudder, powered by a 2409-18ss on 3 or 4 cells (more fun on 4s) cheapo motor ESC and servos, from unitedhobbies.com turns a 10x6 folder, 3s 14amps, 4s 19amps .. AUW 3s, 30.5 oz. 4s is 32+.. wingloading under 9oz sq ft.. comes in at a walking pace with no wind.. throw down the flaps and cut's the final in half and still haven't found the stall speed.. all blue foam and fanfold stabs.. sparred the main wing with CF rod and H stab with CF tube.. with flaps down the ROG is about two feet..LOL
