I've installed the new toolbar, but I can't get it to work. I check VIEW, then TOOLBARS, then I check RCUniverse. It is checke, but the toolbar is not there. I've looked over to the right, as suggested, down to the bottom, to see if it's hidden.
It's simply not there. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but no luck.
I'm using Windows 98 SE.
The OLD toolbars (I've used several different versions) worked just fine!
If I can't get this to work, does anyone know how can I reinstall the old one?

jeff,
sometimes it is hiding. try grabbing the bottom of your link bar or whatever is the lowest edge right above the actual browser viewing area. drag it down. the bar may "pull" out of there and appear. if not then lmk. it should work fine on your setup.

Thanks Marc,
I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, that's not it. I've had several versions of the RC Toolbars, and all worked except this one.
The toolbar installed to 'C:\Program Files\rcubar10'. In that folder, I see RCUBAR10.dll, toolbar.ini, and a cache folder. The cache folder conatins all the bitmaps for the latest toolbar.
I can go to 'View->Toolbars' and I do see RCUniverse. It is checked.
If I uninstall it, the menu item under 'View->Toolbars->RCUniverse' goes away.
Is it possible, the toolbar needs to also install in another directory? Again, I'm using Windows 98 SE.

Hi Marc,
I don't know if this will help or not. I did a search on toolbar and found some your old posts. I found this link: http://www.rcuniverse.com/toolbar2/install.htm
and installed the toolbar. Of course, it is an older toolbar, but it does show up!
Also, another clue...I had both the old toolbar (the link above) and the new toolbar (version 3) installed and turned on.
I could see the old toolbar, but not the new one.
I had two IE windows running at the time.
My IE locked for some reason ( I don't recall why), so I did the control-alt-delete combo. I closed the IE window, which was not responding. When I clicked on the other IE window, the NEW TOOLBAR was there!
However, when I closed the IE window and came back in, the toolbar was gone. The new toolbar was still activated under VIEW->TOOLBARS->RCUniverse.
Hope this helps,
Jeff

No, unfortunately, when I closed IE, I could not get the toolbar to come back.
But, as I mentioned above, the toolbar is still checked under View->Toolbars.
I guess it's ok, because I am able to use your toolbar, which was downloaded from http://www.rcuniverse.com/toolbar2/install.htm .
It is an older toolbar, but at least it works.
