I think that it is (was) one of the ads on RCU. Really annoying.

Not too crazy about the Spektrum pop-up "questionaire/ad" either.

Yep! Very annoying. Dont like it. I also avoid web sites that make a lot of noise.

an ad with noise? if you see which one let me know. we should not have any ads with auto sound playing.

where is the popup spektrum ad showing? we are not supposed to have popups either.

The last two or three times I've logged in, it pops up. Asks me to take a quiz, win a free Spektrum radio. I just close it.

I agree with the others, I don't like it, and I thought RCU was going to avoid popups.

By the way, I always keep my speakers shut off, because of noisy ads. I also hate the ones that flash - and move them offscreen first, to eliminate the distraction.

If I could make one suggestion about the elimination of annoying, distracting advertisements, I would suggest that the flashing ads be forbidden. Likewise the ones with noise, but I didn't know about them since my speakers are shut off. Likewise this intrusive Spektrum popup.

Good luck,
Dave Olson

The add with the noise/sound is the 'PITTS S1 ARF' by 'RC GUYS'. It is really, really distracting.

Guys...the Spektrum thing is not a pop up "window" but it does get in your face on the home page (until you take the quiz!) It's a limited time thing but what I can do is create a function so it only comes up once per session. Or, just take the 9-question quiz and maybe you'll win the sucker!!

Now I'm confused. What's the difference between a popup and this Spektrum thing?

the sound ad has been removed! sorry about that guys. if you ever "hear" another sound again let me know. We don't want to get anyone in trouble at their office while surfing rcu

that slide over spektrum thing hasn't shown for me actually. I don't know why. It isn't a popup ad as those are "advertisements" while this is a survey. Also a popup ad will open a new browser window and the slide in does not. Regardless it should only remind you once and that is it.

I think I would call it an advertisement thinly disguised as a survey!!!

I see it every time I log onto RCU.

Ross - michael was working on it so you would not see it at every login. if not working lmk. also take the survey and be entered to win a DX6 radio!

The Spektrum ad/survey isn't a problem anymore but now when I go to the home page I am getting a javascript error.

Description: Object expected Source: http://www.rcuniverse.com Line 205

This is with every time I enter the home page.

Thanks

Ross
