There are no regs you can put in place to stop a terrorist from useing a model
plane and that includes banning them altogether.

Not even remotely true, we can make it ALOT tougher then it is now.
Right now anyone can get and do anything RC, with money and a phone.

Yes its going to change our hobby, but its probably for the best, in the future of technology, having unrestricted RC flight is not a good or safe idea.
Best thing would be for AMA to be REQUIRED to fly ANYTHING, and AMA must do a background check yearly on renewal. That would probably be enough, and some regs on where to fly, and with states and counties being forced to support and provide appropriete flying sites.

So if anyone is flying at a non flying site, instant suspision, maybe even police, if there at the flying site, easy to go check there AMA/background.

ALL FPV and UAV activity should be banned except for space exploration activities done only by the government, no private UAV/FPV/VR and NO government UAV spying period.

Well you are certainly entitled to your opinion but I think you will find
it to be a most unique one.

Not at all, matter of fact, alot of modelers agree, and almost all non modelers agree, RC flight is dangerous, now more so then ever, and needs regs to protect its survival, and to protect it from being used as a weapon by middle east religous extremists.

Id rather see a comprehensive regulation set to protect both our hobby, and the public, then to see some one abuse our hobby as a weapon and, and have all of us banned on sight. Its inevitable, I'm just concerned with the outcome, guess some of you ostritch would rather keep your heads in the sand and think nothing could happen.

The story of the USA for the last 100years.

Thank you, SeaFuries. That last post was quite an eloquent way of putting it. I'm glad that you conceded the fact that they are middle eastern extremists that are largely repsonible for it, but that they are that: extremists. It's unfortunate that a small group of people feel the right to do something so outlandish. I don't see how they justify creating such havoc and restrictions for so many people. Just the amount of security in airports is outrageous...well needed, but outrageous. I believe, like SeaFuries does, that in order to peacefully exist with any longevity, we need restrictions. With technology like it is, it wouldn't be inconceivable to load an R/C plane up with fuel, bombs, and a little bit of long-range R/C flying equipment to really do some damage. I mean, the strength of new composites for their weight is awesome. Engines now have amazing power-to-weight ratios. You don't have to worry about landing it, so a high wingloading doesn't matter.

If people want to fly free of restrictions, then they'll have to accept that the entire R/C hobby is going to become outlawed soon after because of it.

Lmao you take the cake kid.
I'm not conceding anything.
All the middle east are extremist, from coast to coast, top to bottom, and side to side.
Its far from a "small group" all we see* is the "small group" that blew up on the evening news, instead of the millions more waiting to be called by there "god" to go kill inocent people.
Yes new security is rediculous, but since this world is to gimp to address the issue like men, and simply kill, erradicate, obliterate, ban, ect the root cause of all this "terrorism" (Read all religion everywhere) we will be cowards and change our way of life to protect ourselves from them, to our obvious displeasure.

An RC plane can do way more then enough destruction, to be considered a threat to national security, why the US and other governments haven't already put better safety regs on our hobby is beyond me, my only answer is to me, it is obvious they want us to get attacked so they (government) can have an excuse to go destroy, rape, pillage, steal, and murder another countries people and resources, ala Iraq.

Surprise, surprise...you're an atheist. How did religion get into this thread anyway??
You don't want to go there. The vocal religeous faction that spoke up blames it on extremism but fails to note the lack of resistance or outcry from the alledged "moderate" sector. What follows is the usual diatribe about the lost land of the people. One place I concur, history and geography should be better studied, especially by the protesting faction. And yes, I've been there and seen it all with my own eyes.

Moderator, I do suspect that this post will be deleted. It will be too bad if truth is censored.

What's happening here is that you guys are getting bored of talking about " Radio Controlled Aeroplanes " and want to glamorise your " hobby " as having some kind of threat to national security....

" Ohhh, terrorists are going to read our very important thread, and make their own UAV plane out of a bit of balsa and some glue, and go around bombing the world and causing mass distruction! "

Don't get things out of proportion, you are dealing with hobby planes effectively, these "terrorists" probably know 20 other ways of causing terror, and as Ive said before, they are not going to be easily influenced by a group of RC Universe hobby hot heads!!!

Get a grip, enjoy your hobby (as thats what it is), and move on. There's more to the hobby (and life), than bickering here like a bunch of adolescent school kids. lol.
