Model Data Convertor

Hi, new FX30 (12FG) user here and a friend has a FX40 (14MZ).
Using Model Data Convertor I've transferred some models to his radio but the sailplane memories keep transferring as motor glider. I tried a few different memories and ensured that I had the correct settings to start with.
Any ideas? I have posted on the Robbe support forum. I assume there shouldn't be much software difference between the Robbe and Futaba units.

Is it possible that your friend's model memory is actually set up as motor-glider? There should not be such a change...but the FX-40 is a little bit different from the 14MZ. The software is different, so it could be something in the software.
If your model gets the correct setups, even though the model type is motor-glider instead of glider, I wouldn't be too concerned.

Thanks for the reply Bax. The FX40 seems to be fine.
The model memory was transferred to the CF card via the convertor. So it should just be new model. We tried a few things, but it still xfers as Motor glider and the flap settings via use of the throttle stick didn't work. Changing the model type afterwards was not a success.
I'll try to transfer it to a 14MZ and see what happens.
30mins later ..... Reading the instruction sheet again, it states
"6-3. When converting data to the T14MZ, FX40, or T12Z from either the T12FG or FX30
- When the model type selected is a glider, and the motor function is used, the model type is converted to a motor glider"
I have a logical switch assigned in the flap/throttle stick travel for rate and mixing changes, perhaps it sees this as a motor function?

It's entirely possible. What are the channel assignments named? That may be important, too.
However, even if the model type is "motor-glider", you can assign the functions however you desire, so it shouldn't make much difference once you've gotten the model fully set up.
