Default Features missing from 18SZ that are on the 14SG

Bax,
Noticed a number of features missing on the 18SZ that are on the 14SG.. Some are Throttle Curve(a must for 4 Stroke/Gas Engines) in Airplane Mode. Speech on Timer T1 and T2, Speech volume assignable to a control in the System:Sound menu. Is Futaba going to bring the 18SZ up to the Standard set by the 14SG in a future software upgrade?
One would think the Top of the Line transmitter would have all of the programming features of its down line transmitters.

Thanks
Don

You can set a throttle curve by using the AFR section of the model menu. Simply use a point or spline curve and adjust the points needed to give you the curve you want.

Speech is not available for the timer function in the 18SZ.

We don't know what changes/updates Futaba may have in process. They let us know when they make a release.

Bax,
Thanks for the information. Talked with a friend who had a 12mz and he told me that the 18 programmed very similar to the 12. in my opinion the 14SG programming is the most intelligent programming that Futaba has made to date. I feel that my new 18sz is a programming step backward.
Are there stiffer springs available for the 18sz. Mine are about 1/2 as strong as my 14SG. I have them all the way tightened and the sticks feel ver loose.

Thanks
Don

Interesting....

The 14SG (which is essentially an 8FG with telemetry--they program about the same) uses a subset of the programming found in the 12FG/12Z/14MZ/18SZ/18MZ. The 14SG has less flexibility in its programming than the 18SZ. I love the 18!

For stiffer springs, just call Product Support and order two of these:

Hi Bax,

Normally on T14SG I used trainer port for SIMULATOR (connect to USB) and long range module (FRS-UHF), but now with my new radio T18SZ, none of those working, I already update the T18SZ to the newest firmware, is there anything that I missing here?

Thanks for your support...

Regards,
Franky

You need to turn on the trainer system and then set it to student or teacher, as necessary.

Thanks Bax, works as charm with the simulator, but I've tried all the possibilities with FRS-UHF Module, none of them are working, seems that the 18SZ trainer port doesn't emit voltage to turn on the Long Range UHF Module, as the 14SG.

Still looking for the workaround here...

We can't help with that. You'll have to work with the maker of the non-Futaba device to see what's going on. It's their responsibility to make their equipment compatible, if that's what they're trying to do.

We're not sure what you are asking about. Would you please give us more-complete details of what you are doing and what's going on.
