Default 16/18sz Flaperon Programming

I have a Big Stick without Flaps and want to program Flaperon. On my 10C you would just select Flaperon and turn them on. I'm unable to find this on my 16/18sz radios. How do I set up the ailerons to act as flaps and ailerons(Flaperon)?

Thanks
Don

Flaperons are done in the camber menu. See page 136 of the manual.

Bill, in that part of the manual does not specify how to do 2 flaperon (flaps) settings (taking off settings and landing settings). My plane does not have flaps, just ailerons, but I will like to set to operate the ailerons in 3 ways as follow: 1. as normal ailerons; 2.- ailerons down on setting 1 but operate as ailerons if I move the aileron stick; 3.- ailerons down on setting 2 but operate as ailerons if I move the aileron stick.

I really appreciate your help with this.

Thanks

Jorge

Look at page 136 of the 16SZ manual. Must be in 2AIL wing type. If you need to change that, note all your other settings since changing wing type wipes it all out.

Use a 3 position switch.
up=normal aileron
middle = take off flaps
down= landing flaps

Adjust rates in CAMBER menu as needed to get the deflection you want on the flaperons.

Also consider Malcolm Holt's book on the 18SZ/16SZ. Great resource.It is an inexpensive E-Book on Amazon.

Wow, after spending several hours on trying to set this up on my 18sz i finally managed it. This thread helped me but i still had to set crazy rates on the Camber menu for ailerons. The main issue is there is no flaperon wing type, and the camber option assume that middle switch position is neutral and rate 1 is actually flaperon raises, and rate 2 is flaperon down.
so through a lot of trial and error i got it, even with mixes to elevator . But mix to elevator only works with rate 2, so i used the airbrake to create another mix to elevator up for flaps 1.

Phewwww
