Default Futaba 3pjs pcm 75mhz - crystals?

I want to use my 3pjs 3-channel Tx radio with multiple boats/cars. I have one R113ip 3-channel 75 mhz receiver with a (blue sticker) channel 82 crystal that matches the one in the Tx.

I just ordered/received another R113ip rx, but it has a BLACK sticker ch. 82 crystal.
Both the black and blue crystals appear physically identical.
I bench tested the black Rx crystal, and it works.

Q #1: Is the blue labeled crystal defined as the "short" style?

Q #2: Is this black labeled crystal compatible with the blue sticker Tx crystal for actual use? Or do I need to get another blue ch. 82?

Default RE: Futaba 3pjs pcm 75mhz - crystals?

Hi CADtech,

Since we took over the Futaba Service center in 2000, we have never seen a blue stickered receiver crystal on 75mHz.

As for the regular and "short" crystals, there is no physical size difference, it is only the internal makeup of these that is different.

I would suggest that you do a range check before using this crystal. or if you are in doubt, I would purchase a completely new set.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Sincerely,
