Default Problem with ESC

Hi, I have a problem in getting an ESC to run the motor.(i have tried 3 different ESCs with the same result). I have a SX 26 and a T6L Sport. I bound the 26 to a 7108 and a 6 ch R3106GF and the T6l to the 6 ch rx. I then tried to use a brushed ESC to drive a brushed motor. In all cases the ESC powered the rx, but there was no power to the motor when operating the throttle. I switched to a Spectrum 6 Ch and after moving the throttle a few times the motor burst into life. I tried this on the Futaba with no joy and also tried switching on with the throttle and trim at max and min. Still no movement. Any thoughts - as I must be doing something wrong. Thanks. Colin

Colin,
Have you checked in the Servo Monitor menu on the 26, that the throttle channels is actually working with the stick ?

First, remove the prop!

Reverse the throttle channel in your radio.

Go to full throttle and plug in the battery, after it beeps, go to low throttle and it should beep and arm.

Hi,
Yes the monitor shows normal travel, and a servo moves normally with the throttle.
Thanks,
Colin

I've reversed the throttle (which I do for all electric motors) and plugged the rx battery in at full throttle, bur no beeps and no motor. The system works fine on brushless motors - it is just brushed motors that I can't get to work. I tried the Spectrum again and after 2 throttle movements the motor ran. I have 3 escs and they all do the same (I don't recall 2 of these beeping in the past, but they ran motors. The third esc is new to me, and as it didn't work I tried 2 others and a motor that I happened to have lying around.
Thanks Andy,
Colin

Hi modtron,
I've tried an enjoy model (sic) Lipo esc that I used on indoor models and a Jeti JES 80.

Hold on ......

The system works fine on brushless motors - it is just brushed motors that I can't get to work
Why are you trying to run a Brushed motor from a Brushless ESC ???

Both ESCs are brush ones and ran brushed inrunners. The Jeti was fitted to a Robbe 146 with the original motors and fans. The previous owner flew it successfully on 4s and 5s. I cant' get it it to run. The other ESC ran a small indoor model with an inrunner brushed motor. So I do understand that brushless ESCs will not run brushed motors.
