Default 7C timer problem

I have a three month old 7C with the timer set to count down when the throttle is advanced. Frequently the timer doesn't start and occasionally it stops part way down the timing. It is set at eight minutes and I look down at it and it is stopped someplace like a minute and a half.

What am I doing wrong and is there something to reset?

Hi Stripes,

If you have tried doing a "reset" or tried setting up the timer only on a completely blank model and it still is doing this, then I would suggest sending this into the service center to be checked. But I would suggest setting up only the timer, nothing else in a blank model first and checking it before sending it in.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Sincerely,
Krysta

Stripes,
I had the same symptom. The throttle position that begins the timer counting is adjustable. I had to set the "timer on" point lower (at about 1/4 throttle).
NOTE: Check you aileron operation VERY carefully after you make this adjustment. Early 7C's had a firmware issue regarding this.

All the best

Bhahahahahah

My reply was CENSORED.

I'll try again, without the warning if that's ok?

The default position for the timer to begin counting is with the stick at the mid point. If you fly with the stick below the mid point the timer stops. The position is user settable as detailed in the manual.

All the best

Thanks to the several people who PMed me on this. I tried to be pretty clear in the original post that it is radio of new stock having been purchased in the last several months from a retailer in a tall building. I have set the timer to start just off idle as per manual. The problem isn't the unexpected reset of the ATV but that the timer STOPS or fails to start which appears to me to be an entirely different issue, annoying too.

Hi Stripes,

I would suggest sending this into us here at the Service Center, this should not be happening at all. This sounds as though there is a problem with the radio instead of the a programming issue and as such it will be covered under warranty.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
