Well I made the mistake of buying a GP Flatout and over a month later I'm nowhere near being able to fly it.
Per the instructions I purchased the BL-8 ESC, Rimfire motor, Futaba R 124F micro Rx with 3 S3109 micro servos and a Futaba FM ch 14 short type crystal.
I'm using a FP-T8UAF Tx . I cannot get the system to work. Have faithfully followed the instructions and even got a new BL-8. The battery is fine (have two and used both)
How do I troubleshoot this further. Have invested $$$$$ and way too much time on this project. Is the fact that I'm on Ch 14 a problem as the fine print at Tower says there may be interference going below ch 16. Even if that is the case the system should work on my workbench!!!

I can't rememember if the transmitter you have is PCM/PPM or just PPM. Be sure that it's PPM. If you are currently running in PCM and switch to PPM, you must cycle the transmitter off and then back on.

Dan,
I did make sure I was on PPM. Will try and get a 4.8v battery out of another plane tonight to check the Rx without the ESC connected.
